Colour Me Happy 🌈
It's easy to get sucked into wearing grey, black and monochrome when we're swathed in February's bleak grey tones. However psychologically it is having an effect on you. Being surrounded by these colours throughout the day only adds to the dark atmosphere and sense of gloom. Seasonal Affective Disorder is in full swing so give yourself a helping hand by injecting even the smallest amount of colour and watch it alter your outlook and attitude and even attract positive people around you. Seek out a colour consultation - it will work wonders for you.
Below are a rainbow of colourful pieces, the psychological impact of wearing them and links to these bright beauties
Red - a hot (being at the warmest end of the spectrum), bold and dynamic colour. It has long been associated with passion, love and intensity. Walking into a room wearing red will command attention, it means business and feels powerful. It stimulates the circulatory system and releases the hormone adrenaline. It will increase energy, excitement, temperatures and temperaments - so if you want to be fired up and spirited whether for a meeting or a party - go for red!

Yellow is a wonderful colour for putting some joy back in your life. It lifts spirits, outfits and golden lights in your hair! It has connotations with freshness, clarity, energy and it makes us feel happy! Yellow is believed to aid communication, concentration, decision making, self-confidence and creativity - what's not to love!

Pink is associated with femininity. Most recently It is also been used as a vibrant tool for feminist marches - think that sea of hot pink pussy hats at the Women's Marches - although they are now being ditched to be more inclusive for trans women. However, it certainly had an incredible impact. As a colour It is nurturing and compassionate. It has links with loving your self and letting go of old emotional patterns. It helps heal wounds both emotional and physical and helps you feel gratitude too. Pink used to feel a little too saccharine in terms of clothing choices available but there is now a host of shades readily available in a range of shapes - from whimsical, playful, romantic to more masculine tailoring styles.

Green is a balancing colour, this makes sense given it is in the middle of the rainbow and is neither a warm nor a cold colour. It is the colour of nature and fills us with hope for new beginnings. renewal and fertility. Our eyes needs no adjustment to see green therefore, it is restful for the eye and as such relaxing and can aid with decision making and fairness. It also inspires hope and security.

Orange is an uplifting, friendly and creative colour. It sits in between red and yellow so shares attributes of both. Wearing orange helps us overcome adversity, from feeling less shy and more sociable to overcoming the shock of an emotional trauma. It also improves motivation, independence, energy and confidence - so ideal if you're starting a new solo project!

Purple is a combination of red and blue and so shares some of their features - the strength of red and calming qualities of blue. Wearing purple will increase feelings of self-worth and dignity - it has connotations with royalty from Medieval times and as such evokes feelings of power and leadership. It offers a sense of spirituality and aids compassion. It also makes you stands out from the crowd so wear purple to get noticed!

Blue is the world's favourite colour! Wearing the colour blue releases oxytocin - the stress busting hormone, inducing a sense of calm. No wonder we all feel so calm watching the waves crash upon the shore on hols - nothing to do with the margarita in hand or the sun beating down on face 😉! Blue is also the colour of trust, loyalty, intelligence, diplomacy and clarity which is why it is often used in uniforms
I love this skirt from Alexander Wang - it will look great all year round
