Where It All Began

Apparently it all began when I was 2 and I insisted on choosing my own clothes and throwing a tantrum if my choice wasn't met. My preference was essentially anything with wellies  but ideally a pretty party dress. See pic below, please note ridiculous face and poor mum having to put up with a strong minded sort!

It continued with my beautiful grandma Kitty. From the age of 7 I would help Kit go through her wardrobe. We would while away the hours, Kitty on the bed, me on the floor, lovingly selecting another piece from the wardrobe and presenting it to her while she divulged every detail about said purchase; where it was from, the fabric, the cut, the feel, and most importantly what a bargain it was. Kitty and Alec - grandma and grandad, also made clothes which made it even more magical. She brought a tenable excitement to clothing and it was where my passion and love for clothes and fashion began.

Me on the right of the picture, Kitty in the middle and my sister on the left. I wore the most beautiful outfit from a beautifully curated shop called Minx. It was a plum body with delicate organza roses round the neck and a glorious puffy organza multi layered skirt, also with ornate appliqué rose detail. It was a toss up between pretty ankle tie ballet shoes or patent doc martins and I can't recall which shoe won.
